How to Care for Your Tropicology Products
Fun Fact: All of Tropicology's products are all handmade! Yes, you read it correctly- handmade! Tropicology™ believes that by handcrafting unique and sustainable creations our consumers will not only feel good about buying from a handmade small business but look good too! We promote Self care heavily and encourage our online community to take care of themselves, each other and the environment around them because all of those acts listed are still apart of self care. On the topic of "caring". Here is how to effectively take care of your Tropicology™ products:
How to Clean your fabric Tropicology™ products
- Our products are Washing Machine/Dryer friendly.
- We advise using warm-hot water to remove oils, stains and dirt from your items.
- Use Bleach/Chlorine-free detergents or Castille soap (we love Dr. Bronner's!)
- For Tropicology ™ Pillowcases, we suggest to avoid detergents with harsh chemicals if you have sensitive skin as well as bleach and chlorine.
How to Stop your fabric Tropicology™ products from Snagging
-
Keep your products away from sharp objects! Some uncommon yet common sharp objects are glasses, rat tail combs, scissors, stiletto nails, piercings and etc. Try to avoid or be gentle when it comes to exposing your products to these objects.
- To stop snagging in Washing Machine/Dryer put Washing Machine/Dryer on "Delicate" or use a mesh bag to wash all of your Tropicology products in.
- Do not wash Tropicology items with jeans and towels.
What to do with your
Tropicology™
oil bottle when it’s empty?
Tropicology cares about our environment. Nature takes care of us so in return, we take care of it. To encourage the recycling and reuse of our Tropicology oil bottles, we encourage our customers to bring back their bottles so that we can refill your bottle with fresh new hair oil. We take $2 off every bottle that is brought back to us. This offer currently is unavailable but will be in August 2023!
We encourage you to take care of your environment and reuse, reduce and recycle!
What to do with your
Tropicology™
candle jar when it's empty?
Our Soy Wax candles come in reusable glass jars. We encourage our consumers to reuse the jars as plant pots, coin holders, yogurt cups, decoration and so much more— get creative! All you need to do to accomplish this goal is to soak your empty jar in hot water and scrape out the excess wax/remainder of the wick. Clean with a dish cloth, sponge or scrubbing brush. If you do not want to turn your candle jar into any of these things, bring back your jars and we will take $2 off a new candle for every clean jar brought back to us.
We encourage you to take care of your environment and reuse, reduce and recycle!
How to Care for your Tropicology™ Candle
- Always trim the wick down to a 1/4 inch before burning. (Yes, even if it's an old candle) This prevents "mushrooming" or the wax becoming uneven.
- Tropicology candles should only be lit for 2-4 hours at a time.
- Keep your candles in a cool, dark area with the lid on. This prevents the candle from melting, fragrance evaporation, color fade and helps keep out any dust/particles that can lead to a fire hazard.
- Do not blow out your candles ! Always smother the flame with the lid to prevent wax from pooling to one side of the jar.
